MARIA MADDALENA
After Christ’s Resurrection, Mary Magdalene escaped to Provence and retired to a desert place. One day she asked S.Massimino, bishop of Aix, to receive the Holy Communion. When he entered the church, he saw her floating above the altar and then, having given her the communion, he witnessed her soul ascending to the sky. The scene depicted is completed by two angels who represent altar boys.
