::::::: THE MYSTERIES’ MUSEUM :::::::

Campobasso finally has the Mysteries’ Museum. A reality that is indispensable to dignify Paolo di Zinno’s talent and “creativities” that he invented and created in mid ‘700, and that on the day of Corpus Christi, for over 200 years, parade through the crowd along the streets of the chief town drawing the attention of tourists and students of traditions from all parts of the world. The Museum has been set up in the structure of via Trento (ex ENAL), adapted according to the architect Liberato Teverino’s project and accomplished, with regional funding, by the Antonio Di Iorio firm. The area is amongst the most peaceful of the city, destined to be qualified as one of the most endowed with public structures for cultural and representative activities. A determining role has been played by the Mysteries and Traditions Association that, since the day of its foundation has never stopped carrying out its objective of finding a site where to place and represent the “Mysteries” in order to let them become interesting scientific and touristic objects, as well as, to protect them from the wear and tear of time. The Museum was inaugurated on 7th October 2006 and it comprises two “exhibition rooms” and one “projection room”. In the Hall Room some original costumes of that time are exposed together with variously dated photos, that represent some salient moments of the passed manifestations and catalogues with all the names of the characters of the last 40 years. The “projection room”, endowed with 40 seats, allows you to comfortably see video clips of the Mysteries Procession recorded in 1929, 1948, 1952, 1958, Rome 1999 and 2006, related to the preparation and the development of the manifestation that in part recreate the atmosphere that could be felt and that is still felt in Campobasso on the day of Corpus Christi. Inside the “creativities room” it is possible to see, in detail, the thirteen machines that parade in procession along the streets of Campobasso on the day of Corpus Christi, and to discover the structural and artistic peculiarities that make them unique in the world.
